Rapid Connect is an intuitive 3D interactive interface for efficient creation of Finite Element Model features commonly utilized in Flexbody models. It automates creation of constraint elements and relationships to model pins, pads, engine mounts, mounted masses, spherical connections, beams and many more. Flexbody models are incorporated into Multi-Body Dynamics for structural analysis within the Machine Simulation Process.
Rapid Connect is easy to use for new users and a powerful tool for experienced users. The automation and creation software engine called "FBPREP" is called by Rapid Connect to create and optimize constraint mathematical relationships and ensure the highest quality error free Finite Element Model for solution processing. Rapid Connect is the 3D modeling interface that executes the FBPREP software engine to create many types of features. Use of geometric input parameters for feature creation is the most advantageous modeling strategy. Geometric defined inputs are not reliant on the Node numbers and allows changes in Finite Element Mesh to facilitate faster design iterations of structures. Particularly when using auto-mesh generation tools.
Features used to be added to Finite Element Models by hand over 27 years ago. That was a time consuming, error prone method. This tool was created out of a need to automate and accelerate the Flexbody model preparation stage of the Machine Simulation process. Rapid Connect is a more robust and comprehensive tool than any methods offered within commercial Finite Element Modeling software tools. In our Machine Simulation Process, the most efficient Flexbody creation strategy employs Altair HyperMesh for FEMesh creation and Rapid Connect for flexbody feature creation.
Rapid Connect can read and add features to Nastran and Abaqus Finite Element Models for flexbody analysis, static analysis, normal modes analysis, non-linear contact analysis and other customizable solutions.
